My friend James ain’t got no mind
Friends like that hard to find
Just walks around don’t bother no one
Can’t even feel the heat from the sun
People tease James and call him half man
Just because a bad accident deform his hands
It’s not his fault he can’t eat or drink
Sometimes I think James can’t even think
I saw him one day just moping around
Running into things falling on the ground
Everybody saw him nobody cared
When he went into the convulsion they left him there
James is my friend without any doubt
When he walk in that fancy restaurant I helped him out
And the time he was sleeping in the rain in front my house
I covered him with an umbrella so he be dry as a mouse
Yeah, me and James go back real far
Why he had to walk out in front of my car

Mellow Man
The players play
The crooner croons
The dancers dance
The people swoon
Feel the beat
That mellow sound
The music moves
Its way around
Oh mellow man
What is thy song
What makes you sing so
All night long
Oh mellow man
Why do you cry
What’s in your heart
Why do you sigh
The world is full of
Men like me
Who often look
Yet seldom see
We look without
To find within
We’re saddened
Time and time again
We force our wills
Onto our land
Instead of accepting
What we can
We seek a change
Not in our ways
But in those with which
We share our days
Oh mellow man
How can that be
Why can’t your ways
You often see
I look to change
My evil ways
I long to spend more
Better days
I’m blinded by
My eyes that see
Only what
I want to be
It’s hard to shed
These scales for light
Somehow the dark
Has become my sight
The music plays
A brand new song
A strange tune
That’s played too long
Contorted tones
Un-rhythmic beats
The dancers swirl
The song repeats
Over and over again
The strange song is played
No note the same
No time delayed
Oh mellow man
What is this thing
That plays here
Over and time again
It is the sound
Of my contorted mind
No end no solution
Do I find
I am confused
Without a doubt
Don’t know how I came in
Can’t seem to find my way out

Love Is
Love is showing, love is knowing,
Love is yearning while you’re away.
Love is learning and understanding,
Love is growing day by day.
Fight the pain of separation.
Substitute with smiles and glee.
Try to make the heart feel happy,
When all it is, is empty.
Empty are my arms without you!
Empty are my days and nights!
But oh what freedom I’ll have without you!
But freedom without you is like the sun with no light.
Do I love you? Yes I love you!
Will He let me have you of this I’m not sure.
Time and testing yet shall prove us,
And God’ love shall forever endure.
Love is giving, love is sharing,
Love is waiting for its time.
Time to grow, mature and blossom
Into the greatest love we’ll ever find.

Love Is Giving
Your heart is like a precious gem,
So rare and hard to find.
Eager to give away all it has,
Not just once but all the time.
Because you give, I want to give,
And make my heart an open door.
But I cannot even begin to equal you,
Because you give me so much more.
Thank you for what you’ve given me;
The desire to give of myself.
A desire to give you the contents of my heart,
And not to keep it on my shelf.
Love is a gift that must be shared,
With the object of that love, whoever it be.
Love is always sharing itself,
Thank you for sharing with me.
