The Conquest

Once when I was afraid I thought,
“What need is there to fear?”
Why should I fret for physical life
When your angels are always near.
Why should I fear the loss of food
Or the loss of valued property?
When you made and own all the cattle on a thousand hills
And can provide anything that I need to me!
Why should I fear to speak out about you
Because of what men may say?
For your words are TRUTH and SALVATION
And people really need them today!
Why do I fear surrendering,
Totally letting you take control?
For who can do best for the creation,
Than the creator of that soul?
Fear is the Christian’s great enemy,
For it saps our power from above.
It hampers and confuses clear thinking,
And it inhibits us from sharing God’s agape love.
God’s agape love is the key to the conquest
For it perfectly casts out all fear.
By His given Spirit we can have His love in abundance
And the victory over fear will always be near!
