Man and Butterfly

There once was a little butterfly Who was given to a man To care for her and nurture her, But he crushed her in his harsh hand. Though the butterfly was hurt and broken She survived this awful thing She could fly and function fully But it was hard with a broken wing She could search from flower to flower For the nectar by its scent But it was hard sometimes to find it Because her antenna had been bent She would try to hide from danger When the birds would come to prey But the birds would often find her Because her protective designs had been rubbed away There once was a little butterfly Who was given to a man To care for her and nurture her, But she bit this man’s gentle hand.
